Commissioned as a gift from George Cole Scott of Henrico County, VA to his wife Hildreth on the occasion of their silver wedding on September 27, 1930, this two-piece set represents the very highest quality and artistry of the firm’s output from the period.
The origins of silversmiths and Sheffield Plate makers Thomas Bradbury & Sons can be traced to the late 18th century, when the firm was known as Fenton, Creswick & Co., one of the original companies to enter a mark at the newly opened Sheffield assay office in 1773.
